Askin, Ralph

Dr. Ralph Askin was born on Sept. 21, 1891. He lived to be 100 yrs. old and died on May 5, 1992 in San Rafael, California. Nothing that we found had any children listed. His wife was Evelyn. When he died his body was returned to Pittsburgh and was laid out at Slaters Funeral Home in Brentwood. He was 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighed 210 pounds. He practiced medicine until 1963. He had offices in both Carrick and the South Side. He lived in both Carrick and Brentwood. In the 1930 census, he was listed as a boarder at 2117 Brownsville Road. He boarded from a woman named Elizabeth Siebert. In the 1920 census, at the same address, he and 4 other boarders were listed and the owner was Alex Reed. In 1942, he lived at 3936 Dalewood St.
