Dr. Harry R. Dapper was murdered on August 20, 1928. His murderer was never found. Dr. Dapper was a young doctor and was treating patients on that date when a man came into his office asking him to help deliver his wife's baby. Dr. Dapper went with the man after asking his father to accompany him. Dr. Dapper was shot off Bettis Road near the Allegheny County Airport. The following articles regarding his murder are most interesting. You can draw your own conclusions. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette offered a $5,000 reward that was never awarded.
